A Truly “Special Creature”: For Her Pleasure Published by Outskirts Press
Denver Williams’ memoir is a touching memorial to his wife of fifty-three years, Jo, and to the strength and guidance she gave him as they journeyed together through life, and its trials, strengthening their wills and their love for each other.
Belleville, IL, May 23, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Author Denver Williams announced today the release of For Her Pleasure, published by Outskirts Press. Williams’ well crafted chronicle of the “special creature” in his care and the more than five decades they spent together as husband and wife is a memorable manual for anyone contemplating marriage and a remarkable tale of mutual love and respect.
Captivated by the sparkling green eyes and teasing smile of the attractive young drive-in car hop, the twenty year old Air Force lad from the hills of West Virginia asked for a first date. The next night they were driving up into the mountains outside of San Bernadino, where Denver was stationed, in a borrowed Studebaker. That evening, as he held Jo’s hand to help her climb a trail, he realized he had already fallen in love with her.
For the next fifty-five years they not only loved each other, they simply liked having each other around.
Denver Williams’ memoir shows how he and Jo lived life together as God had planned when He made Eve as a “special gift” for Adam so that he would not be alone. Jo fortified Denver’s confidence, knew how to enhance his abilities and became his best friend and confidante.
In return, Denver treated her, his heaven provided help mate, as the special creature she was.
In the end Denver was powerless to hold on to her. Her medical conditions had accumulated to the point that they ended her life early one morning, and he had to learn how to let her go from this life even as he remained certain that life itself must go on with purpose and energy.
For Her Pleasure is Denver’s fitting tribute to that remarkable woman who was his wife and his special creature.
