Soundview School to Host 14th Annual Arts Festival in Lynnwood

Stanwood, WA, May 24, 2012 --(PR.com)-- June 2 from 11am to 3pm, Soundview School will host their 14th annual Arts Festival. The annual festival will feature games, food, art and new this year, a chance to give back to an amazing arts related charity.

Arts are a valuable and integral part of the Soundview School International Baccalaureate curriculum, but Inae Piercy, head of Soundview School, recognized that many schools are unable to afford arts programs.

“It was important to us to take this opportunity to not only celebrate the arts, but also give back to the arts community as a whole,” Piercy said. “Arts Corps helps get art into areas where it may be lacking and we appreciate that and want to support what they are doing.”

Attendees of the art festival are asked to bring unused art supplies and in exchange will receive 10 free tickets that can be used inside the festival. Arts Corps particularly needs good quality paper, water color paper (no bigger than 11” X 17"), paint, markers, glue and oil pastels.

Full price tickets are .50 each and activities and food range from 2 to 12 tickets. The festival will include activities for all ages, including live performances, art exhibits, international food, crafts and games. Some of the specific activities include: cake walk, lollipop tree, duck pond, sand art, button making, giant slide and an eating competition.
