Georgia Author Releases Children’s Book About Self Perception and Acceptance of Others

Author, J. L. Ramirez is pleased to announce her new book, The Tikiman and Dragon Fly. This is J.L Ramirez' first book inspired by her journey into yoga and meditation.

Atlanta, GA, May 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- "You are a strong Dragon Fly...The Tiki Man's words made Dragon Fly feel important and that his part in our universe was significant." So goes the fantasy story of a large wood carving and a dragon fly that can communicate with the wind, seas, deserts and animals, written by J.L. Ramirez and illustrated by Kim Knowlton. The wise Tiki Man talks of himself confidently which causes the Dragon Fly to make a self assessment that he is not as important. This all changes when the Tiki Man calls on the Dragon Fly for help which in turn reveals his talents to the world. This is a story about reaching beyond our self perceptions and breaking self imposed barriers. The author has created a parable for readers of all ages that offers the gift of self love and acceptance of each other as we are.

The idea of the Tiki man and Dragon fly came from an actual sighting while traveling in Belize where she observed a dragon fly sitting beside the ear of a large wooden tiki figure. It almost appeared as if the dragon fly was whispering in the tiki man's ear. From there a story unfolded of self acceptance and self perception. This children's book was actually a side tour from her main project of writing a female self help/business book for women to get their business ideas off the table and into motion.
