B2BCamp Selects Boston for Participant-led Business-to-Business Sales and Marketing Event
Crowd Sourced Event Offers Effective New Way for B2B Sales and Marketing Professionals to Connect and Learn
Boston, MA, May 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- B2BCamp (www.b2bcamp.com) today announced the selection of Boston for the next city location for the participant-led Business-to-Business (B2B) Sales and Marketing event. The event is scheduled to be held on Saturday, September 29th, 2012 at the New England Research & Development Center (NERD) in Cambridge.
B2BCamp is the only user-organized event built exclusively for and by B2B sales and marketers. B2BCamp is one of many “un-conferences” gaining popularity around the world, however, this event is solely focused on B2B sales and marketing professionals. Although similar to traditional industry conferences, B2BCamp has no “attendees” because everyone participates in some manner. B2BCamp looks to bring the same model to B2B sales and marketing that the popular ProductCamp (http://productcampboston.org/) brings to Product Management.
“The world of B2B sales and marketing is changing right before our eyes, and Boston is viewed as a place not only creating technology to enable this change but embracing it through their local community” says Kyle Porter, Co-Founder of B2BCamp and founder of Atlanta start-up, Salesloft, “B2BCamp exists to help connect the B2B sales and marketing communities and to arm them with new skills and abilities. Implementing some of these fresh ideas could improve the effectiveness of their sales and marketing activities and to take their careers to the next level.”
The event is free for registered participants, funded solely through the contribution of sponsors who value connecting with individuals using their products and services not just by new buyers. The event will be hosted by a team of local advocates for B2B Sales and Marketing and a volunteer base, making it completely organized and led by local participants, or“B2BCampers.” Everyone contributes to the success of the event, right down to creating, presenting and leading the sessions themselves! “We are very excited to bring B2BCamp to Boston this fall. The participant-led format makes so much sense for the Boston area B2B sales and marketing community who want to determine what is important to them ...” explains co-host Henry Bruce , a native Bostonian and founder of B2B Sales and Marketing consultancy The Rock Annand Group, “...We want to control our experience and that means having hosts and organizers who work and live in the Greater Boston area and work closely with the local business community.”
The full-day event starts with participants voting on the sessions that they want to hear. As the votes are tallied, campers will hear from B2BCamp’s keynote speaker, Mike Bosworth, Co-founder of StoryLeaders , and known worldwide for founding and growing one of the most successful virtual companies in the B2B arena, Solution Selling. Mike’s talk, entitled the “Power of Story,” will look at how to faciliate and institutionalize “Whole Brain Selling” for the entire sales and marketing team to achieve greater connections with customers and future customers through story. His keynote will draw upon his recently published third book entitled, What Great Salespeople Do: The Science of Selling Through Emotional Connection and the Power of Story.
Following the keynote, 12 sessions will be offered on a variety of topics such as marketing automation, sales intelligence, social media marketing, marketing and sales operations and revenue analytics. “One of the coolest things about this event is that sessions are crowd sourced by the participants, guaranteeing relevant topics that people actually want to hear, ” says Kevin O’Malley, Co-Founder of B2BCamp and SR. VP of Product and Marketing of Preparis.
