Duggal Visual Solutions Wins Two HP Excellence Awards
New York, NY, May 31, 2012 --(PR.com)-- HP announced the winners of the worldwide HP Print Excellence Awards, at a gala event held in Drusseldorf Germany. The competition recognizes examples of creativity and print quality produced across HP’s digital portfolio and attracted over 1,000 entries from 47 different counties.
Globally, Duggal was the only company to receive awards in both the Outdoor Advertising Category and the PhotoBook Category. Duggal Visual Solutions was chosen as the 2nd place winner in the Outdoor Advertising Category and awarded one of only two special recognition awards for a custom photo book designed to showcase the work of Korean photographer, Ahae.
The book is titled Through My Window and contains images taken by Ahae. It is composed of 4 volumes (I to IV) each in a custom made box, foil stamped with the specific name of the volume and name of the book. Each box is hand made of wood and covered in leather and Asahi Japanese silk and numbered with engraved plaques axed inside the open box opposite the spine. Each book is printed on a felt cover stock to create the feeling of watercolor paper in order to emphasize the beauty of the pastoral images of nature.
“To receive an HP Print Excellence Award is a great accomplishment especially with the tough competition we were up against this year, and it is a testament to the creativity and craftsmanship of our staff and the captivating artwork of our customers,” said CEO Michael Duggal of Duggal Visual Solutions.
For the outdoor advertising category, Duggal received the 2nd place award for their submission, On the Walls of the Lower East Side. The images were taken from Sol LeWitt’s photographic essay of the same name and was put together by curator Adam Shopkorn, Morgans Hotel Group, and Paula Cooper Gallery.
