Local Versatile Actress Lands Roles in Theatre & Film

Los Angeles, CA, June 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- An actress from Phoenix, AZ is taking Hollywood by storm in 2012. Honing her craft from the tender age of four ("Blind Justice," 1994) Marisa Persson has always created savvy and dogmatic characters in every genre.

“With her easy-going and humble confidence on top of her incredible talent and style, Marisa Persson is a breath of fresh air for Hollywood.” --Dillon Wall, 2nd Assistant Director, upcoming film "Trooper."

In early 2012, Persson booked the leading role in Finite Films’ "Imperfect," which premiered at the United Film Festival on May 3rd. "Imperfect" is a unique film-noir piece that unveils the story of a politically-motivated fashion model that is found brutally murdered on a photographer’s set. Persson plays the provocative role of the alluring new model, Emma, who subtly suggests that she is more than simply a replacement.

“‘Imperfect’ was a new and exciting challenge for me,” Persson explains. “I was given the opportunity to really push my limits in drama while performing in a stylized noir.”

Following "Imperfect," Persson filmed "Trooper". Written by Harry Cason and Stephen Beck, "Trooper" is a quirky kids’ movie that follows a dog sleuth who befriends a little boy in search of the legend of the Golden Key. In this family comedy, Persson plays the antagonistic Town Manager who intends to take control in hopes of becoming wealthy alongside her Uncle, the Mayor. The film will be released to international audiences in late summer.

Currently, Persson is getting back to her theater roots. In June 2012, the versatile actress will be starring in "The Nina Variations" by Stephen Dietz, a spin-off of Chekhov’s masterpiece, "The Seagull." Playing Nina in this production adds even more variety to her recent successes.

“I am thrilled to get back on the stage this summer,” says Persson. “There is nothing like performing in front of a live audience.”

In 2012, Persson has tackled dynamic characters in drama, comedy, and the stage. It’s clear this is an actor to watch.

"The Nina Variations" will run at the Complex Theatre on June 14-16 and 21-24 during Hollywood’s Fringe Festival. Tickets are available for purchase at the Hollywood Fringe Site.

Persson is represented by Kevin Isaacs of Cavaleri and Associates.
