FastMed Urgent Care Launches Second Annual Keep Cooler Program
Free Igloo coolers to be donated to schools and organized teams to avoid heat related injuries Valley-wide.
Gilbert, AZ, June 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- FastMed Urgent Care launched their second annual “Keep Cooler Program” for the 2012 summer sports season. FastMed donates free five-gallon Igloo water coolers to any school (grade school, high school or college, private or public) or other organized sports teams in communities in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. The Keep Cooler Program supports healthy hydration among athletes in the communities FastMed serves, particularly during outside play in the hotter months; to help avoid heat related injuries and very serious health complications.
“It’s vital for families and students to stay hydrated during our hot Arizona months,” said Michael P. Dunn, MD, chief medical officer of FastMed, Arizona. “We want to reach out to our community and promote drinking more fluids.”
In its first season last year, FastMed gave away more than 60 coolers to area schools. The program was so well received that the urgent care organization ordered 60 more coolers to expand the program throughout the communities FastMed serves.
“The FastMed team in Arizona is very happy to be able to supply our area communities with Keep Cooler coolers because making sure our athletes are well hydrated is the best defense against serious heat related injuries,” said Dunn.
The FastMed Keep Cooler Program provides a free large cooler to each sports team or coach that contacts FastMed. To find out if your group qualifies for a FastMed Keep Cooler, please contact Ahna Erickson at 480-545-2787 ext.1329.
