Button Theatre, Gwinnett County’s Newest Professional Theater Company Marks Their Debut
Duluth, GA, June 13, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Gwinnett County now has a new choice for live theater entertainment in Button Theatre (www.buttontheatre.com). As a “Destination Theater” Button Theatre will offer affordable, quality musicals and plays that can be enjoyed by all ages; showcasing primarily local talent and employing high production values.
“As one of the fastest growing counties in Georgia with over 750,000 residents, I found it odd that there was so few places to see professional theater in Gwinnett County,” says founding member, IJ Rosenblum. “We are looking to fill that void with Button Theatre.”
Along with Mr. Rosenblum, the other founding members of Button Theatre, Celia Rosenblum and Mary Carolyn Conti bring in a combined theatre experience that encompasses all aspects of theater production and performing, including theater management, production management and design, stage management, as well as on stage performance experience in both musicals and plays. They also have performance and production teaching experience for children and adults.
“Our goal for the next few years is to present 3 – 5 musicals on the main stage theater at the Gwinnett Center with local professional talent and a full orchestra" said Mr. Rosenblum. In addition to providing quality entertainment, Button Theatre is committed to nurturing creative potential through children’s theater classes and cultivating local talent through workshops for actors and technicians. "Not only will we offer after school acting programs and beginning classes, but we are excited to also offer Master Class opportunities for professionals to come together and share their knowledge of not only performance, but designing, directing and tech."
The first production scheduled for Button Theatre is “Godspell” by John-Michael Tebelak and Stephen Schwartz - a musical based on the Gospel according to St. Matthew. Performances are scheduled for July 13th through August 5th at the Jacqueline Casey Hudgens Center for the Arts.
