The one of a kind prototype, 1960 Evinrude Helibout, is up for auction at Red Baron's Antiques June 23 and 24 in Atlanta, GA.
Atlanta, GA, June 13, 2007 --(PR.com)-- It is a boat; it is a plane. No. It is the Evinrude Heli-Bout, and it could be yours as it is up for auction at Red Baron’s Antiques, June 23 and 24 in Atlanta, GA.
The Heli-Bout is a one of a kind prototype, created by world-renowned industrial designer Brooks Stevens in 1960 for the National Motor Boat Show to introduce the Starflight 75hp Motor.
This creation was an example of Stevens' imagination given free reign to demonstrate what the future of boating could possibly hold.
With an Evinrude outboard motor and an electric propeller, the Heli-Bout lets your imagination run wild.
It was previously displayed at the Milwaukee Art Museum in 2003, and featured on the cover of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on July 27, 2003. Also, it was shown in the September/October 2001 Classic Boating Magazine, Issue 103.
It can now only be viewed at Red Baron’s Antiques.
