V&N Cellars a Top Ten Wine-Stars Finalist
V&N Cellars was selected as one of the Top 10 finalists at Wine-Stars with its Barcelona brand.
London, United Kingdom, June 06, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Wine-Stars is the brainchild of Catherine Monahan, Clink Wines, and Robert Joseph, well-known wine critic in the UK. An innovative idea described as being “a cross between Dragon's Den and X-factor,” by the UK press.
“A million random wineries, One competition, Only the best survive,” is how the event was described just at the London International Wine Fair.
The panel of experts and wine buyers was impressive and included some of the top buyers in the UK, including: Andrew Shaw of Waitrose, Justin Howard-Sneyd of Laithwaites, Joan Torrents of Mitchells & Butlers, Catherine Monahan of Clink wines, Robin Davis of Swig, Ben Stephenson of Hanging Ditch and Kevin Shaw of Stranger & Stranger Design. Together these buyers account for £300 million worth of wine purchases (cost price) annually in the UK. More information on the judges: http://www.wine-stars.com/judges/.
The wineries were first judged by the packaging, marketing plan, innovation, business plan, and the story behind them. The panel of judges reduced the entire field down to 20 finalists.
Most of the twenty wineries were personally present in London on May 24th when they were questioned about their wines as the judges tasted the wines. The panel of judges then narrowed the field down to the 10 wineries. The top ten finalists were then asked to present a three minute presentation at Vrazon’s AccessZone at the London Wine Fair. Afterward the buyers made bids for listing the wines.

“It’s been a unique and amazing experience,” mentions Silvia Camacho (http://www.linkedin.com/in/silviaglobalwine), founder of V&N Cellars. “The feedback from the panel of experts was priceless and to be associated with such wonderfully creative people, and great wines, was a privilege.”
