MusicEdMagic Offers Free Archive of Beginning Band Solos and Sheet Music

Keep new band students playing all summer long with free selections from dozens of patriotic, summer camp, traditional, and seasonal sheet music pieces for almost every instrument.

Des Moines, IA, June 06, 2012 --(PR.com)-- In an effort to keep new band students playing their instruments all summer long MusicEdMagic.com, a leader in music education and technology resources for teachers is offering its entire library of beginner level concert band instrument sheet music for free. The collection features dozens of different campfire, summer camp, traditional, and patriotic songs to keep students practicing and performing during the long summer days by adding variety and fun to their practice routine.

All of the pieces in MusicEdMagic.com’s sheet music collection were arranged by an experienced band director and written with beginning band students specifically in mind. For most songs parts are available for flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, and bells. Piano, string, and other instruments not on this list will also be able to find a part that fits into their playable range. All parts are voiced in the beginner range of notes for each instrument and use simple rhythms that most students finishing their first year of band instruction should be able to play fairly easily.

The full listing of all available sheet music titles can be found at http://www.musicedmagic.com/music.

All parts are able to be played in a unison concert setting mixed together with other instruments and still have them sound great. Most pieces are written in concert B-flat major, E-flat major, or F major. All of the sheet music files provided by the site are offered under Creative Commons Attribution licensing, allowing users to arrange them as needed for their particular situation. While all of the files are provided in PDF format many of the titles also include Sibelius or Finale music notation files that make editing and arranging for unique situations quick and easy.

It’s very common for new band and music students to stop practicing and lose a lot of playing ability over the summer months. Students sometimes lose interest in playing their instrument simply because they have become bored with their old lesson materials and do not have anything new and interesting to play. Encouraging a child to continue developing their musical skills is a lot easier to do so when they can play music that they already recognize. Selections included in the MusicEdMagic Sheet Music Archive include patriotic titles such as the Star Spangled Banner and America The Beautiful. Summer camp and traditional selections include songs like Take Me Out To The Ball Game, Kum Ba Ya, and It Ain’t Gonna Rain No More. The archive also provides many other Christmas and sacred hymn selections for use at other times of the year as well.
