TOURAcademy Recognizes Travis Fulton for Outstanding Recent Career Accomplishments
Director of Instruction Receives Praise for Major Exceptional Career Achievements, Including Helping Professional Golfer Fred Funk Get Back to the Winner’s Circle.
Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, June 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Travis Fulton, national director of instruction for the TOURAcademy, has received recognition for exceptional recent career achievements, including his work with Fred Funk, current professional golfer on the PGA TOUR and the Champions Tour, his efforts in the development and shooting of the upcoming TOURAcademy Home Edition DVD, and his contributions to the new TOURAcademy app, as well as the upcoming release of a new online golf instruction and membership product.
Fulton has been working with Fred Funk since March 2011 in the wake of his injuries. With Fulton’s guidance, Funk broke a two-year winless streak and came back to win the Champions Tour’s Insperity Championship, presented by United Healthcare held May 4-6 at The Woodlands Country Club in Woodlands, Texas.
“Travis has been instrumental in making sure I was fully functional and prepared to get back in the game after my recent injuries,” said Funk. “Through constant, efficient teaching, he has worked to help me gain my full swing back, starting with putting and progressing into short game and full swing movements. He is one of the best teachers I have ever worked with, and he is one of the few who has a full understanding of the physics of a golf swing.”
In addition to Funk, the TOURAcademies are building a strong stable of professional golfers on the major tours. Currently, the TOURAcademies have 30 instructors under the tutelage and philosophy of the TOURAcademy. As of June 1, TOURAcademy Instructors are working full time with three PGA TOUR players, four Champions TOUR players and one LPGA player.
For the upcoming TOURAcademy Home Edition DVD instruction series scheduled to go on sale next month, Fulton will be featured alongside other top teaching pros, including PGA TOUR pro Ian Baker Finch. This product will be one of a kind and will make the TOURAcademy product more accessible to golfers all over the world. Fulton has been instrumental as well in the development of the new TOURAcademy app, which launched earlier this spring. This app allows students to capture video and submit swings to a TOURAcademy instructor.
Fulton is currently working on a new TOURAcademy online membership product which is designed for the true golf enthusiasts wanting to take his/her game to the next level, regardless of their location as a result of the virtual nature of the instruction. Like Home Edition, players will be able to get even more involved with the philosophy and TOUR tested style as it pertains to the full swing and short game.
“Travis has truly been a superstar within our organization, and we are so incredibly fortune to have his leadership from an instructional basis, as well as his insight and acumen in the development of new programs, new products, and changing out the direction in which our brand needs to go in order to become a leading force in the golf instruction space,” said John Fechter, president of the TOURAcademy.
Fulton resides in Ponte Vedra Beach and in addition to his off-course responsibilities, he primarily teaches at TPC Sawgrass and World Golf Village. He is very active with the development and execution of corporate programs, working with high-profile brands including Waste Management and AT&T. Fulton works directly with many other advanced high school and collegiate players who have improved significantly as a result of his instruction. His junior students have won numerous local, regional, and national tournaments.
An accomplished speaker, Fulton conducts various golf-centric speaking engagements, including a recent address to title event sponsors at the PGA TOUR forum held earlier this month at the PLAYERS. Fulton is ranked by Golf Digest as a Top 40 instructor under the age of 40, is a contributing writer for PGA TOUR.com & Golf Digest and is a regular guest on Live @ on PGA TOUR.com.
