Alexandria Harmonizers Sing a Capella on June 9th at GMU
Come hear the Alexandria Harmonizers since A Capella at George Mason University on June 9th, 2012. It's quite a show.
Alexandria, VA, June 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- When was the last time you were in a room with 100 men performing? Well you can be and it is a lot of fun.
The Alexandria Harmonizers, a local treasure begun in the post WWII era, will be on stage June 9th, in their spring show for a gold medal performance. Comprised of professionals who donate their time because they just love to sing, the group perform a wide range of music from rock to pop to old standards.
Who are these singing men? They are local professionals, many former military, leaders in trade associations, local businesses, retired executives, and more. They range in age from 18-80. A special appearance by an all-girl a capella group the GQs is also featured.
Internationally known and winners of many awards, the Alexandria Harmonizers have performed at many famous venues including the U.S. Supreme Court, Carnegie Hall and Disneyland. They are headed to China this September.
The Harmonizers perform full stage shows on several numbers including Great Day, New York, New York, Sweet Georgia Brown and Hello My Baby. The choreography is a bit campy but that’s part of the group’s schtick.
As a 60 year part of the Alexandria community, the Harmonizers believe strongly in giving back. They run an annual youth harmony event and workshops for the general public. Learn more at www.harmonizers.org.
