Hats Off for Headway Brain Injury Association from Altrincham Solicitors
In an effort to raise awareness for brain injury charity Headway, Jefferies Solicitors of Altrincham, Cheshire, has pledged to contribute £5 for every £1 donated by its staff.
Altricham, United Kingdom, June 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Last Friday (18 May 2012), was "Hats for Headway Day" and employees at the Jefferies office wore an array of unusual head gear in recognition of the varying different impacts of brain injuries.
Brain Injury Week
The hat wearing event formed part of the Action for Brain Injury Week, an awareness campaign launched by Headway - the brain injury association. The charity encourages organisations to wear unusual and quirky hats for one day every year to create fun around the fund raising campaign.
Despite the eccentric hat creations the seriousness of brain injuries was not overlooked during the event. Michael Jefferies, Managing Partner from Jefferies says: "Myself and the staff at Jefferies have enjoyed taking part in Hats for Headway, and there has been some stiff competition - with the winner announced as Carole Lawrence! On a daily basis we witness what brain injury sufferers and their families have to go through so it is the least we can do in recognition of the immeasurable work that Headway does."
Brain Injuries
Brain injuries are triggered for a multitude of reasons. A Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is brought about by a severe blow to the head in an assault or car accident, for example.
