William Peace University to Sponsor the Independent Weekly’s Hopscotch Music Festival Sept. 6-8
Four-Year Baccalaureate University to Support Third Annual Celebration of the Triangle’s Music Scene Pairing Local Talent with National And International Artists.
Raleigh, NC, June 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced its sponsorship of The Independent Weekly’s third annual Hopscotch Music Festival, to be held Thursday Sept. 6 through Saturday, Sept. 8. The event celebrates the Triangle’s music scene by pairing exciting local talent with notable national and international artists at 15 venues in Raleigh. Hopscotch provides choices in virtually every music genre, including rock, hip-hop, alternative, country, metal, dance, punk, classical, noise, drone and folk. The 2012 event will feature 175 bands performing at night, along with day parties, the Edward McKay Used Books & More Cultural Series, charity activities, a poster exhibition, and more. William Peace University will be a stage sponsor at Five Star at 511 W. Hargett St. and will host an informational booth in vendors’ row in City Plaza during the event.
Approximately 35 percent of the musicians slated to appear at Hopscotch will hail from Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and other nearby locales as a testament to both the region's musical diversity and its national relevance.
