Cork and Pig Tavern Coming to Parks Legado Town Center

Odessa, TX, June 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Cork and Pig Tavern will open a new location at Parks Legado Town Center in Odessa this fall. The original Cork and Pig Tavern located in San Angelo, Texas is the brain-child of chefs/owners: Felipe Armenta, John Nestor and Virginia Dalbeck, three long time friends who got their start with Hillstone Restaurant Group, the parent company of Houston's Restaurant and R+D Kitchen. Cork and Pig Tavern specializes in a wood fired menu including brick oven pizza, signature salads, fish and steaks, house specialties and fine wine.

This 4,500 square foot restaurant will join The Press Coffee and Wine Bar, Marble Slab Creamery, Nutrition Bunker and Joe James Salon and Day Spa, opening this fall. Shops and restaurants totaling 27,000 square feet, will be located near Aim Bank and the 120-room Residence Inn by Marriott in Phase 1 of Parks Legado Town Center, a 68 acre mixed use development under construction on State Highway 191 in northeast Odessa, Texas. Upon total completion, Parks Legado Town Center will include over 300,000 square feet of retail, restaurants, offices, and the Sewell Family of new car dealerships.

“We are excited to bring these great chefs to Parks Legado Town Center,” said Collin Sewell, Parks Legado developer. “The Cork and Pig Tavern is well known throughout West Texas and will raise the bar for the quality of food, wine, atmosphere and service in Odessa and Midland,” he said.

Chef Virginia Dalbeck, a graduate of the Hotel Restaurant Culinary School in Santa Barbara, California, recently starred in the reality television show Hell's Kitchen with Chef Gordon Ramsay, where she won runner up. Chef John Nestor, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Acadamie de Art Culinarie in Paris and Italian Culinary Institute, is the managing partner of the Cork and Pig Tavern. Chef Felipe Armenta, a ten year veteran of the Hillstone Restaurant Group, recently opened The Tavern in Fort Worth, adding to his other restaurants: Cork and Pig Tavern and The Grill, both located in San Angelo.

“Parks Legado Town Center is the ideal development in which to expand our unique brand and concept,” said co-owner Chef Armenta. “This new location doubles our seating capacity and will include an extensive wine cellar, indoor/outdoor bar and private dining room. Our customers will enjoy the covered patio adjacent to the Micro Park and the comfortable, upscale ambiance offered at Parks Legado,” he added.

The Parks Legado development team, including Mr. Sewell and Dallas based developer Epperson Company, has designed the town center with a focus on enduring quality with a hometown feel. Parks Legado Town Center will include Mediterranean architecture, tree lined sidewalks, and the Micro Park to host community events and entertainment.

“These chefs have spent the last decade mastering the art of providing their guests with an unparalleled dining experience," noted Don Epperson, President of Epperson Company. "Cork and Pig Tavern will anchor a great lineup of shops and restaurants coming to Parks Legado," noted Mr. Epperson. “We are continuing to get significant interest from businesses that have been looking for the best place to enter or expand in this dynamic Odessa-Midland market place,” he added.
