Wisconsinmade.com Partners with Operation Gratitude to Honor U.S. Military for Independence Day
Wisconsinmade.com is organizing a fundraiser to raise money for Operation Gratitude to commemorate the July 4th holiday.
Madison, WI, June 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- In honor of Independence Day, a Madison area business, Wisconsinmade.com, wants to recognize the American troops who make sacrifices, sometimes the ultimate, so the rest of us can enjoy our freedom. Wisconsinmade.com will donate $1 to Operation Gratitude for every new "Like" on their Facebook page from June 26th to July 5th, up to $1,000.
Operation Gratitude is a non-profit organization that sends care packages to deployed troops and organizes programs to support veterans and wounded warriors. Although American troops have left Iraq, Operation Gratitude President Carolyn Blashek says troops still need support, "The perception is that the war is over, but the need is still there. Between the troops in Afghanistan, Kuwait, and ships at sea, over 200,000 troops are deployed at any given time."
Last year Wisconsinmade.com raised over $1,000 for Operation Gratitude. Following the partnership, the online gourmet food and gift store saw an increase in orders shipping to military addresses overseas. Troops and their families expressed delight with the ability to ship Wisconsin cheese and other treats to APO and FPO addresses. A soldier stationed in Kuwait commented on the Wisconsinmade.com Facebook page, "I love it when my mom sends cheese over to me and my friends in Kuwait. It makes deployment so much easier." In response to the positive feedback on the Wisconsin gifts for soldiers, Wisconsinmade.com President Linda Remeschatis says, "I'm proud to see a taste of Wisconsin delivered to the brave men and women who are serving our country."
