Employee Involvement in Workers’ Compensation Will be Topic at Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference
Three work comp experts will discuss the importance of involving employees in helping to manage workers’ compensation programs during the Aug. 19-23 WCEC.
Orlando, FL, June 10, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Three national workers’ compensation experts will discuss the importance of involving employees in helping to manage workers’ compensation programs during the August 19-23 Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference at the Orlando World Center Marriott.
Tilted “Start Spreading the News! Getting Employees Involved in Work Comp,” the session will be moderated by Sam Friedman, Insurance Leader at Deloitte Research in New York, NY. Joining him on the panel will be Jennifer Tomilin, Senior Vice President at Zurich North America in Schaumburg, Ill.; and Scott B. Clark, Risk and Benefits Officer for the Miami-Dade County Schools, Miami, Fla.
The panel members will discuss how keeping employees in the dark—either by accident or design—about how the workers' compensation system functions is counterproductive. They will outline how to make employees active partners of employers and carriers to bolster loss control, create a safer workplace, enhance back-to-work programs, and improve the bottom line. Audience members will learn how “spreading the news” can raise employee awareness of workplace risks and help them more effectively navigate the claims process. This session also will offer the inside scoop on how social media, mobile apps, print materials, statistical trending information, wellness programs, and joint efforts with unions can be used to bridge the knowledge gap.
The CEU-accredited session will be presented from 3:15 to 4:15 pm on Tuesday, August 21.
