Vpstart Crow Productions Seeks Artistic Director
Manassas, VA, June 13, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Vpstart Crow Productions Inc., a non-profit, professional theater group performing in the Gregory Family Theater at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas, Virginia, is seeking an experienced and talented Artistic Director to provide aesthetic direction. The position is for the upcoming season and beyond with each season consisting of a fall, holiday, winter and spring production. Vpstart Crow employs a resident company of regional professional performers and artists of the highest caliber and is dedicated to breaking down the barriers between audience and actors in a lively, thought-provoking and “vpstartling” style.
The Artistic Director conceives, develops, and implements the artistic vision and focus of the organization and the ongoing development of the aesthetic principles in consultation with the Managing Director and Board of Directors. Responsibilities include: (1) Establish the theme and select shows for the season in conjunction with the Board of Directors. (2) Select the directors for each production. (3) Work with directors on casting. (4) Ensure each show is produced with the quality of an Vpstart Crow production. (5) Work with staff/designers for feasibility of ideas and budget constraints. (6) Work with Hylton staff to plan artistic related events. (7) Work with the Board of Directors as needed. (8) Write articles and interviews for promotions as needed.
Minimum requirements are: (1) 10-15 years in theatre arts in community or professional theatre. (2) Directing experience. (3) Production Management/Design experience. (4) Casting experience. (5) Understanding of theatre set design and construction, lighting and sound. (6) Understanding of properties and set dressing. (7) Ability to donate time, effort, blood, sweat and tears.
