Artificial Intelligence & Gestural Interface to Drive United States Smartphone Market Says TechSci Research
Artificial Intelligence & Gestural interface will play a key role in the growth story of smartphones in United States on the sidelines of 3G & LTE.
Vancouver, Canada, June 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- United States mobile phone market has entered a new phase in 2012 with half of the mobile phone users as of now own a Smartphone. Before the launch of Apple iPhone, most of the mobile users perceived Smartphone’s as a feature phone with Internet connectivity and multimedia capabilities. The launch of iPhone 4S has changed the way Smartphones are being perceived as substitutes for PC’s, and applications as software’s.
According to recently published report by TechSci Research “United States Smartphones Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2017”, the majority of the Smartphone sales in United States are driven by the number of applications it offers and the operating system it runs. However, the buying pattern is changing with innovation in artificial intelligence and gestural interface based applications which are playing a vital role in driving Smartphone sales. Apple Inc. was the first company to launch artificial intelligence software Siri followed by Samsung and Nokia with their S-voice and Vlingo Apps. The overall response towards artificial intelligence has been overwhelming. It is estimated that in the coming years innovation in these applications would act as a major factor deciding the Smartphone vendor’s growth path.
“United States Smartphone market is expected to grow at the compounded annual growth rate of 18% in terms of volume for the next five year. It is forecasted that 90% mobile phones sales will be of smartphones by the year 2017 in United States. The factors such as decreasing prices, expanding 4G network, product innovation and increasing competition among carriers will drive growth for this industry,” said Mr. Karan Chechi, Research Director with TechSci Research.
“With the acquisition of Motorola by Google Inc. has changed the industry dynamics a lot. It is estimated that Motorola will launch a series of Google’s Android based smartphones in the market to give touch competition to companies such as Apple and Samsung. However, it is forecasted that Samsung will encounter maximum damage when compared with Apple because of Motorola’s re-entry as Apple’s continuous product innovation and brand following would still keep the sales running,” said Mr. Chechi
