Presidential Campaign to Revive Our Democracy

Nashville, TN, June 15, 2007 --(PR.com)-- After 28 years in politics, campaigns and government service, like many Americans Roland Aranjo is saddened by our broken down democracy. He feels lobbyists, special interests, billion dollar political campaigns and misguided government policies are destroying the basic tenets of democracy. A recent Associated Press poll found that 75% of Americans believe the county is going in the wrong direction.

Roland Aranjo is not going to stand by and just watch.

On June 20, 2007, Aranjo will officially declare his democracy revival campaign and bid for president, starting a heart to heart dialogue to create a more perfect union. His message is simple---We have the power to revive our democracy "Here and Now."

“Democracy at its most fundamental level is demos, we the people, and cracy, empowered, or we the people empowered,” Aranjo said. “It is time for us to unleash the powerful, creative democratic spirit within us.”

As he travels through all 50 states by the end of the year, Aranjo will be asking Americans to join with him in the democracy campaign and to sign the “Democracy Revival Petition,” which declares that all citizens have the right to revive democracy.

“In our democracy revival campaign, all federal matching funds will go towards the creation of an online Citizen’s E-Legislature,” Aranjo said. “Like the Parthenon of Athens, Greece, this will be a place for all citizens to come together to discuss, debate and decide on the important issues of the day. The Citizen’s E-Legislature will be the people’s political body.”

Aranjo has written a book, Democracy-The Journey, Discovering Our Divinity, which traces the twenty five hundred year history of democracy and how the citizens of the U.S. can attract the power to revive their democracy. “I strongly believe, once we, as citizens, choose to take full responsibility for the state of our democracy by declaring our power, anything is possible,” Aranjo said.

Aranjo will make his formal announcement as a candidate for president on June 20, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Parthenon – Centennial Park in Nashville, Tenn. – 25th and West End Ave. Everyone is welcome to come and hear Aranjo’s extraordinary message and share their ideas with him.

"We have the power to revive, rebirth, restore, reclaim and recreate our democracy for all generations 'Here and Now,'" Aranjo said. “I am looking forward to having open discussion with all Americans about our desires, direction and future democracy.”

Roland Aranjo is a Democratic presidential candidate. A political activist for 28 years, Aranjo has written the book, Democracy The Journey, Discovering Our Divinity, about his vision to restore Democracy to the people.
