Non-Profits Benefit from Shade Tree Garage's Community Giving Efforts

Morristown, NJ, June 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- An important part of every business’ success is the support of local community and non-profit organizations. During the months of April and May, The Robert Packard Center for ALS Research and Grow It Green Morristown were the benefactors of the generosity of Morristown’s Shade Tree Garage.

“We believe in making a commitment to being a good business neighbor and that means supporting the efforts of local community organizations,” states Shade Tree’s owner, John O’Connor. “Over the past two months, we’ve focused our fundraising efforts to support two important causes.” Shade Tree Garage has been supportive of the work being done by The Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins University along with those of a local community organization, Grow It Green Morristown.

In April, Shade Tree Garage continued with their annual fundraising efforts for ALS research. Their focus to raise funds for the research of this debilitating and fatal disease came about when O’Connor’s brother, Gary, was diagnosed with ALS several years ago. O’Connor’s brother lost his battle with this disease this past March, but the hard work of the O’Connor family continues as a legacy in Gary’s memory. For each of the eighty oil and filter services they performed during the month, Shade Tree Garage made a donation to The Robert Packard Center for ALS Research.

For Grow It Green Morristown, the name Shade Tree Garage means they now have a truck to work the community gardens. A Ford Ranger pick-up truck was recently donated to the organization and then rehabilitated by John O’Connor and his son, Dan. “There is nothing more satisfying than knowing you’re a part of making a difference,” states O’Connor. “Whether it’s a repair job for a customer or in giving back to our local community, we strive for excellence.”
