Fields of Attitash Horseback Riding Opens for Summer Saturday, June 16

Bartlett, NH, June 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- In addition to the Nor’Easter Mountain Coaster, Alpine Slide, waterslides, and other available summer attractions at Attitash Mountain Resort, horseback riding has long been a traditional summertime activity that locals and visitors alike can enjoy in the Mount Washington Valley. This Saturday, June 16, the guided horseback trail and pony rides will be open at 9 a.m. to begin its daily summer operating season. The Fields of Attitash have once again become the home for 20 horses of various sizes and breed, but this year many improvements have been made that enhance the equine business surroundings and are functional to utilize and sustain the field space for feeding horses. “It really looks great down here and we’re excited to open for the summer,” said horse and trail guide manager Megan Brown. “From the new entrance gate and directional signage to the few hundred new posts and fencing installed to allow our horses to naturally feed across more field space, visitors are going to notice the many improvements made. All of these improvements, in addition to a lot of trail maintenance work and cleaning up the forest and riverside trails that suffered damage from last summer’s tropical storm Irene, will really compliment the experience for our customers.”

Also new this year, guests will have a lower-priced ($30 per person), half-hour guided tour option in addition to the longer, one-hour ride ($50 per person). No experience is necessary to enjoy guided horseback riding, but riders must be 8 years or older; over 48 inches in height; and not weigh more than 250 pounds. For younger children who may not meet the minimum age and height requirement to ride horses, the stables also offer hand-led pony rides. For all riders, the proper clothing and footwear, including long pants and shoes, are highly recommended. Horseback and pony rides are scheduled to operate daily, weather permitting, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. through Monday, September 3 and rides are accommodated on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are not accepted, however, riders (including groups) are encouraged to call ahead to know availability.
