Commdex Selected by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to Improve Border Patrol Agent Safety
Commdex will be supporting U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint operations by providing and installing a new, fully digital CCTV system that will help keep patrol agents safe.
Norcross, GA, June 19, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Commdex, a wireless systems integration firm, announced today that it has been awarded USACE’s prime contract to support Custom and Border Protection’s border patrol operations at Sierra Blanca, Texas. Commdex will provide USACE with a solution that includes the design, installation, and training for a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) System. This fully digital CCTV system will assist agents at Sierra Blanca border patrol stations in monitoring and recording activity in detention areas, checkpoints, and inspection areas. Commdex’s monitoring system will significantly improve officer safety, as it will provide real-time observation of detainees and vehicles approaching the checkpoint.
This award allows Commdex to provide a sound, technical solution that fulfills the nation’s need for increased video surveillance of its borders. Under this contract, Commdex will provide all installation services for each camera, configuration, testing, system optimization, training, warranty, and documentation.

Under a variety of contracts, Commdex has supported USACE/CBP with solutions including remote video surveillance activities, design and construction of communications towers, microwave backhaul, and network engineering.
