Tour Championship Purse of $343,000 Disbursed
It was a big win for Tommy Gainey as he took home the $50,000 first place prize from the Tour Championship at Bear’s Best in the Pro-Championship Division and for Jim “Buzz” Leverett as he won the $7,500 first place purse in the Pro-Net Division.
Hertford, NC, November 18, 2005 --(PR.com)-- It was a big win for Tommy Gainey as he took home the $50,000 first place prize from the Tour Championship at Bear's Best in the Pro-Championship Division and for Jim "Buzz" Leverett as he won the $7,500 first place purse in the Pro-Net Division. But another 87 golfers received checks also. The 89 checks from the Tournament Proper were mailed on Wednesday, November16th.
In the Pro Am, the top three teams received trophies while the top three pros received checks along with the top three Pro-Championship golfers in the Pro-Pro competition and the top Pro-Net golfer in the Pro-Net/Pro-Net competition. Checks were presented immediately after the Pro-Am concluded at the Pro-Am Awards party.
In all, checks totaling $343,050 were presented or mailed to golfers within three days of the completion of the Tour Championship after verification and results audit was completed.
Highlights of the 2005 USPGT Tour Championship will be seen on The Golf Channel in a two-hour special "54 Holes to Sunday", hosted by PGA and Champion's Tour veteran Joe Inman, along with Brett Wright and Shannon Polito beginning December 7 at 11 a.m.
