Storage Village Partners with Severna Park Assistance Network
Millersville, MD, June 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Storage Village has established a partnership with Severna Park Assistance Network to help alleviate the most urgent needs of our community members seeking for emergency assistance. Severna Park Assistance Network (SPAN) is now the beneficiary of Storage Village’s year-long and seasonal community service campaigns.
Severna Park is a non profit organization that provides food and financial assistance to our neighbors who need it most. SPAN’s caring and dignified treatment of our neighbors in crisis allows those individuals and families to receive the support they need in one centralized location, instead of going from church to church.
Storage Village is supporting SPAN’s efforts through donations of food, money, and time. These three initiatives combined will have a powerful impact on the extent to which SPAN can assist those struggling in our community.
With each new move in, a tenant can get their first month for $1 if they bring in at least 3 cans of food to Storage Village’s onsite Canned Food Collection Center. All food collected from Storage Village in Millersville is donated to Severna Park Assistance Network. Last year, the Storage Village community donated over 2,000 pounds through this program.
Each Thanksgiving, Storage Village donates Thanksgiving dinners to SPAN through their “Room for Dinner” campaign. Storage Village donated 103 Thanksgiving meals companywide last year.
Additionally, Storage Village assists Severna Park Assistance Network by purchasing and selling water bottles to collect monetary donations. Each water bottle costs $1, and all money collected from the sale of water bottles is donated.
Furthermore, Storage Village pays all full time employees to donate at least 8 hours each month to volunteer work. Though the employee can volunteer at the organization of his or her choosing, SPAN is the recommended organization for employees based in Millersville. All volunteer opportunities at Severna Park Assistance Network will be listed in Storage Village’s new Volunteer Resource Book.
“We are thrilled to be able to help Severna Park Assistance Network serve people in the Severna Park community who don’t have the means to take care of some of their most basic needs.”
-M. Goldberg, C.O.O, Storage Village Self Storage
Storage Village’s partnership with Severna Park Assistance Network was inspired by their core value of community service. As a company, Storage Village expresses their gratitude for the community that they are a part of by giving back throughout the year. By targeting all of their efforts towards assisting one organization, Storage Village will be able to maximize their impact.
Storage Village is proud to be an active member of their community. They invite anyone in need of extra space, or that would like to contribute to SPAN to stop by their facility in Millersville.
