Lake Lanier Islands Resort® Kicks off Exciting Summer Concert Series at the New Peachtree Point Amphitheater
Georgia’s Island Stage Concert Series Hosted by Banks & Shane Features Performances by Gloriana, A1A, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band at Newly Remodeled Lakeside Open Air Venue
Buford, GA, June 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Lake Lanier Islands Resort® is excited to showcase the impressive redesign of their Peachtree Point Amphitheater during each performance of the Georgia’s Island Stage Concert Series. Debuting this year at the popular Southern lakeside resort, the series kicks off with the rising country stars of Gloriana on Saturday, July 7 at 8 p.m. Also taking the stage throughout the summer are Jimmy Buffet tribute band, A1A, on Saturday, August 11; local legends, Banks & Shane for their 40th Anniversary Bash on Saturday, August 18; and lastly, the Grammy Award winning Nitty Gritty Dirt Band on Saturday, September 15. The series – hosted by Banks & Shane – highlights a wide variety of music from Rock to Oldies, and Bluegrass to Beach Music.
Recently, the amphitheater formerly known as Presentation Point was completely renovated into the new and spectacular Peachtree Point Amphitheater. What once served as a trendy place for outdoor concerts during the 1980s-1990s has now been transformed into a truly unique venue to enjoy a night of music and sweeping panoramas of the lake with family and friends. Pristine views of Lake Sidney Lanier provide the Peachree Point audience with a beautiful backdrop for the stage, while the overall setup creates an incomparable and intimate feeling. The terraced venue now includes chairs in every section, and because of the incline layout of the amphitheater, there is not a bad seat in the house.
“We have played shows at the amphitheater many times, most recently in 2006, where we shared the stage with our friend, Jeff Foxworthy,” explains Banks Burgess of Banks & Shane. “It has always been one of our favorite places to play, but the Islands Give Back Concert this past Saturday was the first time I have experienced Peachtree Point as a member of the audience. It is fantastic! The natural bowl creates an intimate concert environment. Combine that with the excellent acoustics and the spectacular view with Lake Lanier as a backdrop… well, it has to be the best venue in Georgia both to perform a show and to watch one. We are proud to host ‘Georgia’s Island Stage’, and we look forward with great enthusiasm to celebrating our 40th Anniversary at Peachtree Point on August 18.”
For each concert, the doors of the beautiful lakeside Peachtree Point Amphitheater will open at 7 p.m. and the bands will take the stage at 8 p.m. To purchase tickets for each event, visit http://www.lakelanierislands.com/events, or for more information contact Kate Davis at kdavis@llimail.com.
