Renea's World, Inc Publishing Department Releases Children's Book Written by Eight Year Old Boy
What do a bad day at school, a last-minute Halloween costume and a boy's best friend have in common? They're the inspiration for The Adventures of Cowboy Lucky, a new children's book released by Attitude Publishing, a division of Renea's World, Inc. by eight year old Keith Amari Jones, a third grader in the Dade County Public School System in Miami, Florida.
Miami, FL, June 18, 2012 --(PR.com)-- What do a bad day at school, a last-minute Halloween costume and a boy’s best friend have in common? They’re the inspiration for The Adventures of Cowboy Lucky, a new children’s book by eight-year old Keith Amari Jones, a third grader in the Dade County Public School System in Miami, Florida.
The fast-paced, illustrated story is the first in a series of stories the young author, whom friends call Amari, has written.
The story features Lucky, Amari’s rescued German Shepherd mix as crime fighting super hero Cowboy Lucky and Amari’s Aunt Zannetha as Zane, Lucky’s unsuspecting owner. Amari’s homeroom teacher, Ms. Bullock and class para-professional Miss Biglow, were his muses for the story’s antagonists.
A portion of the proceeds from the book sales will be donated to animal rescue groups in the Miami area. Amari developed compassion for homeless dogs after his family rescued the injured Lucky, paid his veterinary bill and adopted him. “I just think if they (animal rescue groups) had more money, more dogs like Lucky would find loving homes,” he said.
Amari, who is taking piano and guitar lessons, hopes to become a rock star one day. He says his teachers are good-natured about being cast as the story’s villains. “Mrs. Bullock wishes the illustrator had given her nicer hair and clothes, though,” he says with a giggle.
Parents with young readers can pre-order the books and electronic downloads at www.theadventuresofcowboylucky.com.
