Accedian Announces SLA Assurance for Wireless Backhaul
Chicago, IL, June 16, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Accedian Networks Inc., a leading provider of SLA Assurance solutions and Ethernet Demarcation Devices, today announced the release of a new Ethernet SLA Assurance product offering geared towards Wireless Backhaul Networks.
The Accedian EtherNID™ DE series allows Wireless Backhaul service providers to guarantee stringent Ethernet SLA parameters between Base Stations and Mobile Telephone Switching Offices (MTSO), a key requirement as operators are converting their backhaul from TDM to Ethernet.
“Because Wireless Backhaul infrastructures involve multiple vendors, multiple technologies and sometimes multiple carriers, there is currently no End-to-End way to measure and assure the live performance of such Ethernet transport.” said Patrick Ostiguy, President and CEO of Accedian Networks Inc. “This is where Accedian’s unique technology comes into play.”
The Accedian EtherNID™ DE series incorporates a highly accurate hardware-assisted engine (PAA™) which allows constant and seamless in-service monitoring of Service Level Agreement (SLA) parameters including: packet loss, latency (delay), jitter (delay variation) and continuous End-To-End path Continuity Check (availability). All of this is achieved in an End-to-end fashion, across multiple technologies, multiple vendors, and multiple carriers.
Furthermore, the Accedian EtherNID™ DE is particularly well suited for high-density wireless base stations with very limited rack space. Allowing up to 4 NID functions in a single 1U, or an outstanding 24 independent NID functions in 4U, the EtherNID™ DE features twice as much density as any other products in its category. The DE also comes as standard with a total of 4 power input feeds which are mutually redundant: Dual -48Vdc feeds, AC adapter and PoE. Each EtherNID™ DE unit only consumes 8 watts and requires no fans.
Additionally, the EtherNID™ DE features the same high-performance Fast-Thru™ engine as other EtherNID™ products, and thus minimizes intrinsic packet-jitter and latency of the device; sub-microsecond at 100% wire-speed for all packet sizes, including Jumbo packets up to 10,000 bytes, thus minimizing the introduction of latency or jitter to the service itself.
Accedian’s EtherNID™ DE will be demonstrated at NXTcomm 2007, June 19-21st, McCormick Place, Chicago, booth #5421.
