Shawn Slavin Named to Information Technology Alliance Board of Directors
Board of Director position is the culmination of years of professional and community involvement from ITA to Scouting
Tulsa, OK, June 19, 2012 --(PR.com)-- CS3 Technology, a professional knowledge firm specializing in the sales, implementation, and support of ERP and HRMS solutions, is pleased to announce that Shawn Slavin, Vice President of Consulting, will serve on the Board of the Information Technology Alliance (ITA) for a minimum three-year term. The ITA Board has an active role in day-to-day operations and conference planning while shaping the future of the organization and how it can serve its membership.
ITA is a membership association of leading mid-market technology professionals whose objective is to create a community where members share information and build relationships that improve the way they and their clients do business. To be considered for the Board, a member must be active, have chaired a committee, then be nominated by a nominating committee and voted on by the membership. Shawn’s involvement with ITA spans a decade of attending biannual conferences, chairing a conference, and membership in several committees.
“I am honored to serve my profession on the ITA Board,” said Shawn. “I feel very strongly about the value that ITA brings to our members. ITA is an open forum and I have developed strong relationships with other members over the years. If I am struggling with something in my business or need to leverage some resources, I have numerous people to turn to and learn from.”
Shawn has a deep-rooted commitment to sharing his talents within his community. For years, he was involved in scouting with his two sons who are both Eagle Scouts. From Cub Master to Assistant Scout Master with Troop 26 in Tulsa, Shawn has been a merit badge instructor, led high-adventure treks across the country, participated in numerous summer camps, attended the 2001 National Scout Jamboree, and facilitated for the Outer Limits ropes course program. “Being a part of scouting with my sons taught me so much,” said Shawn. “You learn leadership and goal-setting skills by helping young men develop these same skills. The experience was phenomenal and to do it with my sons made it that much better.”
Shawn also shares his love of technology and years of experience by being a frequent speaker for the Tulsa Chapter of the Oklahoma Society of CPAs. He has served as a church Deacon, on the Board of the Tulsa Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and together with his wife, Rhonda, was the Treasurer for the Owasso Band Patrons Associations while their sons were members of the program.
Shawn has a passion for golf and has parlayed that passion to helping with a variety of golf tournaments, including the US Open, the PGA Championship, and the Patriot Cup, which benefits the Folds of Honor Foundation. This Foundation provides scholarships and other support to the spouses and children of soldiers killed or disabled in the service to our country.
“Being involved in a variety of organization over the years has helped me to continue to grow and learn,” said Shawn. “From the people I meet to the experiences I had, I am grateful for the continued opportunities to serve my community and profession.”
