Galveston’s "Haunted" Hotel Galvez Offers Ghost Tour and Dinner in October

Galveston, TX, June 20, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Guests at the “haunted” Hotel Galvez & Spa, A Wyndham Grand® Hotel and National Trust Historic Hotel of America, can hear stories of the “Ghost Bride” and other reported strange occurrences during the hotel’s annual ghost tour and dinner in October. The 101-year-old historic Texas hotel offers a public ghost tour accompanied by a three-course dinner for $35 per person on Wednesday and Thursday evenings throughout the month, including Halloween. Additionally, the hotel offers a special overnight package.

Beginning Oct. 3, Hotel Galvez concierge Jackie Hasan will guide participants on a tour through the historic hotel’s ghostly past while using an electromagnetic field detector and infrared thermometer to conduct a paranormal investigation. The one-hour ghost tour, which begins at 6 p.m., is followed by a three-course dinner at Bernardo’s Restaurant at Hotel Galvez, starting at 7 p.m. The hotel will begin taking advance reservations in September and reservations are required. Guests must contact the restaurant at (409) 765-7721 to make reservations and may visit www.BernardosAtHotelGalvez.com to review the dinner menu when it becomes available.

“The ghost tour and dinner package at Hotel Galvez allows our guests to explore the ghost history of the hotel while providing participants with an interesting and uniquely entertaining experience,” says Hasan.

Hotel staff has often reported odd occurrences throughout the hotel, such as candles blowing out on their own, dishes breaking with no one around and unexplained breathing or children’s laughter in some public areas. Similarly, guests have reported seeing or sensing the occasional spirit in their rooms or unexplained orbs in their photos. The hotel is also known for its “Ghost Bride,” who has reportedly been seen in Room 501 and throughout the fifth floor. Hotel Galvez and its ghosts have been featured on the Travel Channel’s Ghost Stories and on Discovery Channel’s Ghost Lab.

Guests participating in the ghost tours can extend their experience with Hotel Galvez’s “Dinner with the Ghosts” package. Priced at $229 per night, the package is available on Wednesdays and Thursdays in October and includes deluxe guestroom accommodations for two, a three-course dinner for two, the ghost tour and valet parking. The package is based on double occupancy and subject to availability. Pricing does not include taxes and gratuity.
