Retrotech, Inc. Honored with Green Provider Award
The editors of Food Logistics Magazine have selected Retrotech, Inc. as a 2012 Top Green Provider.
Victor, NY, June 20, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The editors of Food Logistics Magazine have selected Retrotech, Inc. as a 2012 Top Green Provider. The Top Green Providers Award was created to recognize companies in the food and beverage sector that have embraced sustainability practices as central to their operations. In turn, they play a key role in their customers’ own sustainability efforts while simultaneously helping to advance awareness throughout the supply chain community.
Steven Beyer, Director of Business Development at Retrotech states, “Our food and beverage customers are under a lot of pressure to constantly improve their material handling processes. Unprecedented demands to fill complex orders, deliver orders on time, increase food safety, and reduce carbon footprint have made success a daunting task. We try to make achieving sustainable goals a little easier with our intelligent order fulfillment solutions.”
Retrotech won the accolade for the ACTIV® solution that was created for LiDestri Foods. ACTIV is a unique, high-density storage technology that buffers, sorts, and stages palletized unit loads in exact loading sequence. Fast moving products are more accessible while slow moving products are positioned out of the way, so loads can be internally staged and sequenced for trailer loading – 24 hours a day. The ACTIV solution allowed LiDestri to consolidate three warehouse operations under one roof. This helped support corporate sustainability goals by conserving fuel (eliminating the transportation costs of moving product to off-site warehouses), reducing truck emissions (by decreasing truck-wait times), and using cubic space more efficiently.
