TSBDC/KOSBE Hands-On QuickBooks Training at the Morristown Chamber of Commerce

Kingsport, TN, June 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) at ETSU and the Kingsport Office of Small Business Development & Entrepreneurship (KOSBE) will host a Hands-On QuickBooks Training event on Thursday, July 19 from 1-4 p.m., at the Morristown Chamber of Commerce, located at 825 W. 1st North Street, Morristown.

The cost of the hands-on workshop is $75 and laptops pre-installed with a demo version of QuickBooks will be used during the training event. Each participant will have their own laptop device for interactive training. Registration is required.

The purpose of this workshop is to provide individuals interested in using QuickBooks as a business management tool a starting point to begin. Attendees will gain hands-on experience of how QuickBooks can help business owners’ setup customers and vendors, track sales and expenses and manage payroll.

The QuickBooks1 – Beginners Seminar will train the attendee how to properly setup and run QuickBooks to fit the needs of their business. Topics include: Accounting basics (define and understand terms such as debits, credits, assets, liabilities, equity, income statement, balance sheet, statement of cash flow); Set up of a sample business on QuickBooks (develop chart of accounts, bank account, etc.); Recording sales and receiving payments; Entering and paying vendor bills and Working with bank accounts (write checks, record deposits, reconcile).

The course will be facilitated by Kenneth Sessions and Gloria Dooley with Creative Empowerment, Inc. dba, “The BEST Trainers” located in Nashville. They are under contract by the TSBDC to teach QuickBooks to small business owners and entrepreneurs.

The cost of the workshop is $75 and open to the public, but seating is limited. Advanced registration and payment is required and must be received before July 17, 2012. Anyone interested can register online at kosbe.org or call (423) 392-8825 for more information.
