Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia Wins Best Indigenous Tourism Award from Australian Gourmet Traveller
Manhattan Beach, CA, June 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- In recognition of the quality of its Indigenous Guest Experiences at Ayers Rock Resort, Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia has been awarded The Gourmet Traveller Travel Award for Best Indigenous Tourism Experience.
The Gourmet Traveller Travel Awards, now in their sixth year and proudly presented in association with Nespresso, recognise the best Australia offers in the way of unforgettable holiday moments - from the finest hotels and resorts to life-changing outback and indigenous experiences, sybaritic spas, wine-touring and much else besides.
Judged by a panel of expert travel writers, editors and industry professionals and voted on by readers, the awards are a prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry.
The new suite of Indigenous Guest Experiences was launched this year that is free to every guest at Ayers Rock Resort - whether they are staying at the premium Sails in the Desert hotel or the Ayers Rock campground. The daily activities feature an interactive performance by the Wakagetti Dance Troupe, spear and boomerang lessons, dot painting classes, guided garden walks and bush yarns at the Circle of Sand.
"We are delighted to receive such great recognition of the progress we have made in the area of Indigenous Guest experiences," said Voyages Managing Director Koos Klein.
"Guests frequently comment that their interaction with the Aboriginal culture is a highlight of their stay," said Mr Klein.
