Local Real Estate Broker Receives GRI Designation
San Luis Obispo, CA, June 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Local real estate broker, Dawna Davies, recently earned her Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) designation. The GRI is the nations number one real estate credential and one of the most prestigious professional designations. The GRI program is an intensive course of study consisting of 95 hours of live course instruction.
“Our real estate continuing education requirement is only 45 hours every 4 years. I feel that an average of less than 12 hours of professional education per year is inadequate to keep up with current legislation, timely standards of practice, and the various facets of real estate that affect my clients every day,” said Dawna Davies, owner and broker of the Davies Company.
The GRI program is designed to enhance REALTORS® up to date industry knowledge and improve skills to help set them apart. With real estate transactions becoming increasingly complicated in today’s market, the GRI further prepares designees to put together offers and negotiate deals. Topics covered in the program include technology aspects of real estate, real estate property law, investment tax strategies, client representation, fair housing, disclosures, real estate finance, commercial property matters and environmental land issues.
