Polaris Achieves New Milestone: 250k Assessments Administered in Support of Better Behavioral Health Care
Polaris continues to extend its reach with 150 provider organizations in the United States and Canada now using one of its behavioral health outcomes assessment systems.
Langhorne, PA, June 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Polaris Health Directions continues to extend its reach across the United States and Canada to help improve the quality of health care, while reducing costs. Since 2005, 250,000 Polaris behavioral health assessments have been administered by 150 provider organizations to help them better identify and monitor patients’ behavioral health.
Polaris’s Web-based learning solutions provide behavioral health outcomes management and clinical decision support so that public and private sector organizations can better target interventions to a patient’s specific needs and strengths. Additional system components include referral generators, online training, predictive models to assess risk for adverse outcomes and clinician messaging. Polaris systems can be easily integrated with most electronic health record systems using the HL7 and Web services interface.
Polaris developed its suite of solutions with funding from the National Institutes of Health following rigorous scientific review. Prior to commercialization, they were field-tested in collaboration with providers and expert consultants. Polaris’s systems serve a range of patients, including domestic violence victims, children, adults in mental health or chemical dependency treatment, and adults being treated in primary care, emergency medicine, cardiology and oncology settings.

About Polaris Health Directions
Polaris recognizes that organizations cannot manage what they do not measure. Many behavioral health care providers and payers may not be collecting and analyzing enough of the right data to answer basic questions about the cost-effectiveness of the care they offer. Polaris's advanced technology and science driven assessment systems are designed to capture the clinical data essential to quality improvement and enhanced organizational management. Polaris solutions provide advanced analytics to help organizations improve and demonstrate to their customers the value of their care. With a focus on prediction, Polaris solutions do more than describe clinical change. Polaris systems also indicate if treatment is likely to have a positive result. Helping organizations make better decisions in the present by anticipating the future will be the difference in reducing their costs while improving patient care.
