Kanchenjunga Express- Unique Thriller with a Twist
Kanchenjunga Express is an edge-on-the-seat thriller about a beautiful yet simple girl Nandini who faces a tremendous amount of torture and abuse on various occasions by different people.
Kolkata, India, June 23, 2012 --(PR.com)-- “A woman who gives any advantage to a man may expect a lover -- but will sooner or later find a tyrant”- these words by Lord Byron seem to perfectly portray the character of Nandini, the lead in Arnab Ghosh’s suspense thriller- Kanchenjunga Express. The film which has already hit the floors from May 24 is a woman-centric film encased in a thriller format and aims to visualize the pains and struggles of a simple woman who is a victim of abuse in the hands of several men over her life-time.
Nandini is a docile meek girl, played by Mumtaz Sorcar who is on quite a high after the tremendous success of her latest venture, Bhooter Bhobishyot. Nandini is a victim of circumstances. On the other hand, Jaya plays the character of a strong independent woman who has had to endure many things in life which have contributed to her lookout of life itself, she is tough and does not trust people at all.
The cast of the film is vibrant and pretty star-studded with names of many serious actors like Rajatava Dutta, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Angshuman, Kanchan and newcomers Mrinal and Debadrita Chatterjee.
The music of the film has been composed by Souvik Gupta with songs sung by stalwarts of the music industry like Usha Uthup, Kunal Ganjawala and Rupam Islam. The recording of the songs have already started and there is another twist in the star cast with Rupam Islam joining in with a cameo role. The rockstar that he is, he will be playing himself. He will be featuring and performing in a college fest sequence. Here Mumtaz aka Nandini will also be present as winner of the college beauty pageant. In fact, Rupam not only performs but will also be flirting with Mumtaz in this sequence.

According to the debutant director Arnab Ghosh, the casting of Jaya Seal Ghosh and Mumtaz in the lead roles is perfectly suited. Arnab Ghosh owns two happening nightclubs- Club 69 off Bypass and Xrong Place on Sarat Bose Road and now he is making his foray into the world of films with Kanchenjunga Express which he wrote and is now producing as well as directing.
