Article Labels Stiff Upper Glyph's Semidocile "One of the Best New Fonts of 2012"
New meticulously kerned font Semidocile receives immediate recognition; recently labeled as one of the year's best.
Los Angeles, CA, June 27, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Typepface Design Studio Stiff Upper Glyph is pleased to announce that a new article is featuring its font Semidocile as one of the best new fonts of 2012. The article can be found at this link: http://designfestival.com/the-best-new-fonts-of-2012-so-far/
The font's designer, John Merrifield is very excited by this news, and happy to report, "Semidocile is starting to receive some of the recognition that I believe it deserves."
Semidocile is an intriguing sans-serif typeface with a modern, unique personality. The glyphs (letters) have bull-nosed corners and a slightly brush inspired feel, which is sleek and modern, while simultaneously amiable and soft. It was designed to stand apart from the common look of most other sans-serifs.
The OpenType font is meticulously kerned, contains 382 glyphs, and supports most Latin and Western European Languages. Additional weights and styles are underway and coming soon. The first weight available, Bold, is a precursor to an entire family, and it's already style-linked to snap directly into place with its future family members.
According to Merrifield, "It doesn't look like anything else because I didn't copy anyone. It's completely unique and original, and it's going to stand out very well. I poured an ocean of intense quality into it. The kerning is excellent."
Semidocile is useful as either a chic display/headline font, or sufficiently legible text font, and the soon to be released regular and light weights will be especially suited for the latter.
