Cupcakes Will be in the Spotlight at First Friday Birthday Bash

While 3GC typically cruises the streets vending cupcakes curbside, on that night from 6-9 PM, they will park at "The Truck Stop" at 21st and Wyandotte to host a birthday party with a dozen other food trucks, live music and a beer garden. As if cupcakes weren’t enough, there will also be a cupcake-eating contest, a charity raffle with fabulous prizes from local restaurants, hotels, artisans and other local businesses to benefit The Children's Place and Jack FM will be doing a live remote.

Liberty, MO, June 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- What kind of bakery would invite rival bakers to help celebrate their second anniversary in business? KC’s mobile cupcakery, 3 Girls Cupcakes, that’s who and they will be doing just that on July 6 at First Fridays in the Crossroads. While 3GC typically cruises the streets vending cupcakes curbside, on that night from 6-9 PM, they will park at "The Truck Stop" at 21st and Wyandotte to host a birthday party with a dozen other food trucks, live music and a beer garden. Sarah's Cake Stop, the St. Louis mobile cupcakery, is coming to help wish 3GC a happy birthday and local cupcakeries, Pin-Up Pastries and The Sweet Tooth will also join the festivities, with multitudes of cupcakes to sample as well as to sell to you, the fans.

As if free cupcakes weren’t enough, there will also be a cupcake-eating contest, a charity raffle with fabulous prizes from local restaurants, hotels, artisans and other local businesses to benefit The Children's Place and Jack FM will be doing a live remote from 6-8 PM. There will also be tea tastings from Adventures with Tea, plus displays, prizes and giveaways from local vendors.

"Food trucks in Kansas City have gained a lot of momentum in the last two years,"owner Simonie Wilson said. "We're excited to have played a role in that trend, so what better place to celebrate than at 'The Truck Stop?'" Wilson, who calls herself a 'cupcake engineer,' launched 3 Girls Cupcakes in January 2010 doing cupcake deliveries, then added the vending service that summer.

About 3 Girls Cupcakes:
While on a trip to Nashville, Simonie Wilson of Liberty decided to combine two trends she saw there: cupcake bakeries and food trucks. She launched Kansas City's first mobile cupcakery in 2010 using a pink and white van, vending her signature creations throughout the metro area. On most weekdays, her van can be found parked at various intersections and office buildings in the heart of Kansas City with a line of people standing outside her window. Wilson donates 10 percent of sales to children's charities.
