VPS Server Monitoring: Bitpalast Extends Functionality of Its Virtual Private Servers
All Bitpalast virtual private servers ("VPS") will be equipped with server monitoring that can be configured by server operators. The monitoring system is capable of detecting errors, restarting services and notifying server operators.
London, United Kingdom, June 29, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Companies rely on high availability of e-mail and web services. In response to this requirement web space provider Bitpalast extended its service offering to commercial customers: all Bitpalast virtual private servers ("VPS") will be fitted with server monitoring that can be configured by server operators.
At regular intervals, the monitoring system checks if all important server services are operational. This includes e-mail, databases and web servers. If the system detects an error, i.e. a failed service, it attempts to restart that service while notifying the server operator by e-mail. Notification also happens in case of a failed service restart. This makes it possible to detect malfunctions early on and keep downtime to a minimum.
The server monitoring system has been seamlessly integrated into the existing server control center. Server operators can select services they want monitored by mouse click. They can also adjust the checking intervals. Error notifications can be sent through external mail servers. This makes sure that notifications are sent out even during mail service failure on the affected server.
Bitpalast VPS servers function as independent Linux servers and allow access to the Linux console through SSH. However, they are not purely Linux servers like VPS servers offered by many other providers. Instead they are preinstalled and immediately ready for operation. Preinstalled software includes PHP, MySQL, phpMyAdmin, Apache web server, a statistics package and much more. Also included free of charge are typical applications like WordPress and shopping systems such as Oxid eSales, Magento or Shopware. It is also possible to use simple commands to set up additional, common applications often needed on web servers in small and medium-sized companies.
About Bitpalast:
