Waste King Cage Helps Maximise Firm’s Recycling Opportunities
The Luton branch of Portable Offices - a leading UK supplier of temporary offices, portable buildings, mobile offices, modular buildings, storage containers and other portable units - has turned for advice and help to Waste King, the specialist collections, clearance and recycling company.
Hemel Hempstead, United Kingdom, June 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- When the Luton branch of Portable Offices - a leading UK supplier of temporary offices, portable buildings, mobile offices, modular buildings, storage containers and other portable units - found that not only had the price of skips risen but it was amassing waste products, such as fridges and electrical products, that couldn’t be put into a skip, it turned for advice and help to Waste King, the specialist collections, clearance and recycling company.
Waste King’s answer was to build a special ‘waste cage’ for Portable Offices’ Luton depot.
Portable Offices’ staff can now put any waste products – from plasterboard and electrical goods to ‘mixed waste’ – into the cage. Once in the cage, these waste products can be easily segregated so that they can be more easily recycled – leaving only a small percentage of the waste to go to landfill.
Then, when the cage is full, Waste King’s operatives come along and remove the waste which, since it is segregated, is easily and speedily removed.
Waste King’s managing director, Glenn Currie, commented: “So far, we’ve managed to recycle well over 90 per cent of the waste we’ve collected from Portable Offices in this way. This not only helps boost Portable Offices’ ‘green’ credentials but also helps to prevent unnecessary damage to our environment.
“Moreover, with the price of skips rising – especially if the skip company finds ‘prohibited’ things such as plasterboard in the skip - and, with the recent increases in landfill taxes, the ‘cage’ approach to removing waste is a highly cost-effective option for Portable Offices.”
He added: “It’s encouraging to see a company, such as Portable Offices, being ‘rewarded’ - in cost terms - for taking a responsible attitude towards disposing of its waste products. It would be good to see more firms taking such a responsible and environmentally considerate approach.”
