Indian Ocean – Back by Popular Demand
Indian Ocean once again set to make waves in the San Francisco Bay Area. Fundraiser to support the "Drive Against Bribe."
San Jose, CA, June 19, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Following their sold out performance last year, Indian Ocean will once again enthrall music lovers with a Bay Area stop on their North America tour. They will perform July 14, 2007 at Chabot Theater in Hayward. The concert will feature audience favorites as well as new material not heard before. They have scored the music for the film ‘Shunya’ and are also set to release a music video. Fans are excited. “I can’t wait!” exclaimed Srividya R., breathlessly. “Having heard them in my teens, I am hooked to their music”.
The concert is a fund-raising event for the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of Association for India’s Development (AID), a not for profit organization committed to sustainable and equitable development in India. Rahul Ram, bass guitarist and vocalist with Indian Ocean, is thrilled to partner with AID. He says, "Working with AID has been an amazing experience. AID provides Indian students and the larger community here the enormous opportunity to help with great projects back home". According to Piyush Mehta, Secretary of the Bay Area chapter of AID, “All concert proceeds are earmarked to fight corruption and apathy in the government using the monumental Right To Information (RTI) Act, 2005”. RTI allows any citizen to seek information from the government, thus holding it accountable.
