Vero Beach Ministry Receives 501(c)(3) Status

Epic Missions, Inc. has received its tax exempt status as a not-for-profit charitable corporation.

Vero Beach, FL, June 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Epic Missions, Inc., a not-for-profit ministry that offers short-term Christian missions trips to groups from all over the United States and Canada, has received its 501(c)(3) tax exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service, according to its president, Paul Munsie.

IRS Section 501(c)(3) exempts nonprofit charities (which must be established as corporations, trusts or associations) from federal taxes. Monetary gifts to Epic Missions, a corporation, retroactive to its inception last year, are tax deductible as charitable donations on the donor’s annual federal income tax returns. Paul and Jacqueline Munsie are co-founders, and run the missions organization full time with the support of their Board of Directors and multiple volunteers, including their daughter, Alyssa.

Epic Missions facilitates short-term missions in Florida and Haiti. Groups have been staying at its mission base in Vero Beach since the beginning of 2012, ministering to needy community agencies and families in need. Epic Missions Inc is all about helping the community through acts of compassion and care for those who are hurting, and need to know that there is a God who cares. At present, Epic Missions needs to raise $500,000 to fund the purchase of its' missions base in Vero Beach, to ensure future ministry to the area. Donations can be made through the fundraising site for Epic Missions.

Munsie’s wife, Jacqueline, is vice president and facilitates mission teams’ activities and their interaction with the community in the mission field with the help of short term missions volunteers. Short-term missionary groups are typically teens, college students, schools, adult groups or Christian organizations from all over the United States and Canada. All mission trips are custom-designed to meet each particular team’s needs and talents. Those teams are then sent to work within the community in Indian River County and St Lucie County or travel to Haiti. In Haiti, Epic Missions Inc supports two different orphanages in Jacmel and Gonaives which care for more than 300 boys and girls on a full-time basis.

Epic Missions has relationships with a number of ministries in St. Lucie and Indian River Counties, including Bury The Violence, Habitat for Humanity, Prison Fellowship Ministries, Shining Light Garden, Teen Challenge, Wabasso School, The Love Center, Harvest Food Bank, The Source, Hibiscus House, Sportsologie and Sarah’s Kitchen, along with local churches such as Northside Christian Fellowship in Fort Pierce and First Church of God in Vero Beach.
