Frenchtown, NJ, July 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The National Hotel Receives World’s Largest Travel Site’s Highest Honor: Certificate of Excellence
TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, recognizes The National Hotel’s consistent top ratings from travelers, by awarding it the Certificate of Excellence, making it earn “a place among the very best,” according to Christine Petersen, President, TripAdvisor for Business. The National Hotel has earned a reputation for excellent service for its hotel suites and for its distinctive culinary selections, along with signature drinks served at its Restaurant and Bar, as well as downstairs in The Rathskeller Pub (a.k.a. The Rat).
The National Hotel has also earned numerous stellar reviews by other publications and websites, including Zagat’s, Icon, and recently winning the Best Burger competition in its geographic area by dtown Magazine.
Many new programs have been added to The National Hotel’s roster of community events and activities, ranging from a weekly Thursday Open Mic Night, a Saturday Night Music series, and a Sunday Musical Afternoon series, to a bi-weekly Tuesday Trivia Night, and a Music Themed Night on the first Saturday of every month.
Last week, The National Hotel received three rave reviews about its Restaurant, ranging from the excellent and varied choices of its menu selections, to the excellent and caring service of the staff. These were the first three reviews on TripAdvisor about the restaurant side of its business, which is now being recognized for consistently delivering a varied and exceptional menu that is refreshed with each season. The National Hotel is uniquely positioned to be able to do this, directly tied into its key geographic location, as it is able to take advantage of the fresh and locally grown produce of the area, while at the same time continuing with its commitment to support local and sustainable farmers.
Pairing these dishes with just the right wine selection has become a passion for the owners, Pete and Marie D’Costa, who have traveled extensively visiting vineyards and wine merchants from around the world, in order to bring distinctive choices to their patrons. This passion will now be shared with their patrons through a National Wine Club that will launch in July, with members-only discounts, exclusive monthly wine selections, special invitations to wine tastings, and tasting notes and information about the wines chosen every month.
The National Hotel is at the crossroads of three well-traveled roads near the Delaware River: Rt. 12, County Rt. 513, and Rt. 29. The historic building was originally built in 1833, where it served as a stagecoach stop and a brothel, until it was rebuilt in 1850, reopening its doors in 1851. It has been a hotel and restaurant/bar, ever since then. It was renovated in 2009 by the D’Costa’s, and now features 10 richly appointed and unique guest suites in which to relax and escape today’s pressures.
