San Diego, CA, July 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- 2012 heralds the year four apocalyptic creative worlds -- comics, toys, film and fashion -- collide in San Diego, CA. On July 12, 2012, the sci-fi comics anthology “Heavy Metal” will join forces with Diamond Select Toys, Dig Deep Entertainment and Jonny Coffin of Coffin Case, hosting an event celebrating their shared passion for innovation and experimentation.

Held at the Haunted Hotel, one of the nation's premiere haunted houses located in San Diego's Gaslamp district, Versus World’s private event celebrates their companies' current projects in the fully charged atmosphere of Comic-Con International. Attendees are treated to a fashion show by the legendary Coffin Girls, music by NeonGenesis and DJ Azmyth, and a guest performance by Alien SecX Rehab, with food by Elegant Eats and drinks by Heineken, Monster, St. Petersburg Vodka and Tequila Adan y Eva. The event takes place Thursday, July 12, spotlighting the Peter Mayhew Foundation, and is produced by Ember Live Media. The event is invite-only, with a red-carpet celebrity reception 8-9 pm. Special guests include well-known action genre actors, producers and directors, as well as creative liaisons and supporters of the hosts.

“Heavy Metal” magazine, under the ownership of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman, continues to bring its readers the finest in sequential storytelling from around the world, spotlighting visually groundbreaking sci-fi and fantasy. Currently celebrating its 35th anniversary, the magazine will be made into a brand-new anthology film by director Robert Rodriguez. Dig Deep Entertainment, the new brainchild of world renowned artist/ director Digger T Mesch, launches it's latest entertainment property in association with Heavy Metal magazine. Agent 88, a dark action-comedy about the world's most deadly assassin, an elderly English women with Alzheimer's. Described as "Kill Bill meets Mr. Magoo", the web series stars Carlos Gallardo (“El Mariachi”, “Desperado”, “Grindhouse”), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca in “Star Wars”, “Glee”), Damion Poitier, Actor (“Avengers”, “Star Trek”, “True Blood”) and Joseph Gatt ( Thor, New Star Trek 2).
