Beatminerz Radio’s DJ Esquire Named 2012 DMC U.S. Supremacy Champion
DJ Esquire Wins 2012 DMC Battle for U.S. Supremacy and Chance to Battle for World Championship in London.
Madison, TN, July 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Beatminerz Radio is pleased to announce that DJ crew member, DJ Esquire recently won the 2012 DMC U.S. Supremacy Battle title. The prestigious competition took place at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City on June 23, 2012.
The day-long event featured over 20 DJs from all over the country to compete for titles in two competitions, the U.S. Supremacy Battle and the DMC NYC Regional. The judge panel consisted of 1996 World Champion DJ Cheese, 2008 DMC World Vice Champion DJ Slyce, Billy Jam, and Bullet Proof Scratch Hamsters’ members Eddie Def and DJ Cue. Judges looked for precision in scratching, beat juggling, showmanship, stage presence, composition, creativity and execution.
After the two minute elimination round, DJ Esquire was chosen along with seven other DJs to battle one-on-one with vinyl only for the U.S. Supremacy title. He beat out 2008 U.S. Supremacy Champion DJ S.P.S of Florida, 2010 DMC U.S. Champion DJ Etronik of California and in the final round, Clean Cut of Ohio.
Although DJ Esquire has competed five previous times, this is his first win for DMC U.S. Supremacy. However, he holds championship titles as the 2007 Staton/ Roc Raida Gong DJ Battle U.S. Champion and the 2002 ITF Western Hemisphere Team Champion. This victory will send Esquire to London in late September for the DMC World Finals as the U.S. representative. He also won the newly released Rane Sixty-Two Mixer and a pair of Shure Custom Gold –M44-7 needles.
“I have followed the DMC competition for over 15 years and I have always dreamed that one day; I could be on that big stage at the DMC World Finals representing the U.S.A. Now, that day has finally arrived. I honestly still can't believe I won, but it was just one of those nights where everything came together and I was able to perform at a high level and take the title,” DJ Esquire explains.
