Celebrate National Ice Cream Month this July with “Yum’s the Word” - a new show that blends old-fashioned birthday parties with modern-day storytelling. Each month comedic storyteller, Robin Gelfenbien, throws a party for a lucky audience member replete with Mad Libs, balloon animals and homemade ice cream cakes.
New York, NY, July 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Comedic storyteller, Robin Gelfenbien, is proud to celebrate National Ice Cream Month this July with “Yum’s the Word” - a new show that blends old-fashioned birthday parties with modern-day storytelling. Each month she throws a party for a lucky audience member replete with Mad Libs, balloon animals and homemade ice cream cakes.
On Wednesday, July 18th, Robin welcomes storytellers Rick Younger (The Today Show, Last Comic Standing, BET), Katina Corrao (Comedy Central, HBO, VH1) and Andy Christie (The New York Times, The Moth Radio Hour, The Liar Show) to share their funny true stories about “Melting” ranging from embarrassing stories to crushes to everything in between. Robin’s 71 year-old aunt (aka Auntie) who originally created the ice cream cakes and stars in a web series with Robin (auntiedotell.tumblr.com) will also make an appearance.
Ever since Robin was a little girl, her family has been making ice cream cakes for their birthdays. Since she left home, she’s been carrying on that tradition for her friends’ birthdays. They’ve been so popular that she decided to blend her passion for making ice cream cakes with her passion for storytelling, and Yum’s the Word was born.
“Ice cream cakes instantly remind people of their childhood, and I want to celebrate that nostalgia with the purest form of entertainment, storytelling. The show is about indulging your inner child and your sweet tooth,” said Gelfenbien.
