Vinously Speaking Wine Shop to Host Special Event
Independence Day v. Bastille Day | USA v. France | Food & Wine Tasting | Saturday, July 14th (2pm - 8pm)
San Antonio, TX, June 08, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Join Ceci Barretto and Melissa Unsell as they host a special event featuring American and French wines, along with food from both countries. The event will take place at Vinously Speaking Wine Shop (7271 Wurzbach, Suite 117) on Saturday, July 14th from 2pm – 8pm. The food and wine tasting are free, and there will be great music by DJ Phylo and jewelry specials by Daphne & Lola.
Bastille Day, the French national holiday, commemorates the storming of the Bastille, which took place on 14 July, 1789 and marked the beginning of the French Revolution. The Bastille was a prison and a symbol of the absolute and arbitrary power of Louis the 16th’s Ancient Regime. By capturing this symbol, the people signaled that the king’s power was no longer absolute: power should be based on the Nation and be limited by a separation of powers. Today the French celebrate by holding parades and firework displays around the country with the largest one being the Bastille Day parade in Paris along the Champs-Élysées. The French President also holds a chic garden party at the Palais de l’Elysée.
Just one year ago, Ceci and Melissa launched their “Social Wine Education” event series hosted on behalf of the Vinously Speaking Wine Blog. They launched the series with a Bastille Day and Independence Day Celebration. This year, the duo will host a similar event in their very own brick and mortar wine shop.
