MoBiTec GmbH Introduces First Secretion Vectors for the Lactococcus lactis Gene Expression System NICE®, Developed by NIZO Food Research
NIZO food research has developed the first commercially available secretion vectors for the widely used Nisin Controlled gene Expression system NICE®. The NICE® System is a Gram-positive gene expression system for Lactococcus lactis already used by many labs all around the world. The NICE System as well as the secretion vectors are marketed worldwide by Germany-based MoBiTec GmbH. With these new secretion vectors MoBiTec expands its rich portfolio of non-E. coli vectors and expression systems.
Goettingen, Germany, July 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- NIZO food research has developed and successfully used in different projects newly constructed secretion vectors for the Gram-positive gene expression system NICE®. This expression system is making use of the dairy bacterium Lactococcus lactis and its regulation mechanism for the production of the antibiotic peptide nisin, the NIsin Controlled gene Expression system (NICE). The NICE® system is already used as a dedicated expression system by many labs all around the world. With these new secretion vectors for NICE®, MoBiTec expands its rich portfolio of non-E. coli based expression vectors and systems and will offer the technology to its customer base and academic researchers all around the world. Thus, researchers who wish to use NICE® technology for research purposes are welcome to address their requests to MoBiTec. Customers who wish to use NICE® technology to produce commercial products are invited to direct their requests to NIZO directly in order to obtain a license.
Other non-E. coli expression systems offered by MoBiTec involve e.g. Bacillus megaterium and Bacillus subtilis as expression hosts.
