Minnesota Sinfonia Announces Fall Tour with Soprano Superstar Maria Jette

The Minnesota Sinfonia to perform in outstate Minnesota this fall. Cities to be featured are Pipestone, Worthington, Jackson, and Redwood Falls, Minnesota.

Minneapolis, MN, July 24, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Minnesota Sinfonia, a non-profit professional chamber orchestra, to go on tour with soprano soloist Maria Jette to outstate Minnesota. The September tour will feature four greater Minnesota cities the weekend of September 7-9, 2012 including Pipestone on Friday at 7pm, Worthington on Saturday at 2pm, Jackson on Saturday at 7pm and Redwood Falls on Sunday at 2pm, Minnesota.

The Minnesota Sinfonia is proud to be featuring superstar soprano soloist, Maria Jette. Ms. Jette has appeared with The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, the Minnesota Sinfonia, Houston, Kansas City, San Luis Obispo, Santa Rosa, Charlotte, Buffalo, Grand Rapids, Austin and San Antonio Symphonies, New York Chamber Symphony and Portland Baroque Orchestra, and for many merry seasons with Ex Machina Antique Music Theatre in the Twin Cities. With conductor Helmuth Rilling, she’s sung Bach, Mozart and Haydn around the US, Germany, Spain, Venezuela, Japan and Canada. She’s performed her own production of Seuss/Kapilow’s Green Eggs & Ham for over 40,000 kids around the USA. She has been a regular guest over many seasons at the San Luis Obispo Mozart and Oregon Bach Festivals and the Oregon Festival of American Music and is often heard nationally on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion. The Minnesota Sinfonia will perform a variety of light family favorites as well as feature a selection of vocal pieces from the following: Georges Bizet’s Habanera from Carmen,
 Giacomo Puccini’s O mio babbino caro from Gianni Schicchi,
 Harold Arlen’s Stormy Weather, 
Richard Rodgers’s Do-Re-Mi from The Sound of Music,
 Bob Thiel and George Weiss’ What a Wonderful World,
 Leonard Bernstein’s Tonight from Westside Story and American Folk Songs Shenandoah and Yankee Doodle.

Concerts are made possible with a generous grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board with funds from the Legacy Amendment as well as generous support from the Plum Creek and Pioneerland Library Systems.
